Puzzle Kingdoms

The Nintendo DS gets fun and brain teasing through the latest release, Puzzle Kingdoms. The gamer here, on the onset, chooses his warlord and through the game, in the process of puzzle quests, gains more power, abilities and high features. The puzzles and riddles here are what make this game one of its kind in the sense that along with these strong features, it has its own ugly weaknesses. This game lays a lot of emphasis on the gold and the troops that you control. The game is done once these two are completely lost.

When in combat, this game makes use of maps and such features to help the gamer and also makes use of old style looks blocks and tiles to picturize the riddles. Your rewards for completing the minigames are usually status upgrades, items, or information. An attack during battle, for example, displays a brief picture of your troop along with a cheap sword clank. However, some monotony sets in when choosing the warlord. There is not much of flexibility here considering the only two options are the name and the gender of the warlord. The game’s music is adequate, however not memorable enough. Again, inspite of the great mechanics here, the appearance and the looks of the artwork make this game look not up to the mark and even rushed. If you’re willing to ignore the production values, the experience is going to be something worth the money you shed.
