Hinterland: Orc Lords, PC

Released on JUne 9, 2009; Tilted Mill entertainment has picked a subject which exudes the same punch line as in the year 2006 with Caesar IV but with an altogether a fresh feeling of an amalgamation of the old and the new.

In Hinterland: Orc Lords, the king is the hero responsible for the building a township by subjugating the the countryside in the vicinity. For achieving his goal, the king sets out to build a team of his own comprising of villagers epitomising elf like creatures each of them unique in their own ways.

They then would strategize how to conquer the neighbouring lands. During this voyage gamers would experience characters and creatures both traditional and fictional exploring and discovering tools and weapons required for the conquest.

This real-time strategy game has typical landscapes and structures with maps sketched with dull stretches and the music is a composition of victorious sonnets. The winning streak is when you kill all your enemies on the territory in your invasion game play depending on the size option that has been chosen in the beginning where in at a particular time nearly 20 to 50 enemies can be encountered.Victory is guranteed if you take care of the visitors who more than farmers are the tourists who stay put; and the killing of even a single farmer during harvest time could spell disaster.

The game as an overall package is quite refreshing but poor production values and typical archtype structures along with haphazard game events lack consistency.
