The technology of LCD monitors also called liquid crystal display monitors allows for thinner monitors and are thinner than the old traditional CRT or cathode ray tube monitors. Thin monitors give the benefit of more space, not to mention that they are easier to handle as well.
In recent days LCD monitors are becoming so popular and are used for notebooks, desktop computers as well as for TV sets. Energy awareness among consumers are increasing by leaps and bounds in recent days and this lead the display manufacturers to concentrate all the more on displays that gives reduced power consumption.
Acer has recently unveiled two new eco-friendly LCD monitors namely 19″ V193WBbmd and 22″ V223WBbmd. These two green LCD displays of Acer are really exciting with respect to their features and specifications. It’s more worth to get something that’s is eco-friendly and these new monitors from Acer are just that.
According to Acer these green displays offer a power saving of 36% as compared to their other models. Both these LCD models sport a contrast ratio of 10000:1, response time of 5ms and brightness rating of 300cd/m2. The resolution of 19-inch model is 1440 x 900 and the resolution of 22-inch model is 1680 x 1050. Most important point to note is that these green LCD monitors or Acer has been tested by the Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) for Windows Vista compliance. The price of 19-inch monitor is $185 and for the 22-inch the price is $236.
In terms of features, the 19″ V193WBbmd and the 22″ V223WBbmd offer resolutions of 1,440 x 900 and 1,680 x 1,050 respectively whilst offering 10,000:1 contrast ratio, 300cd/m2 brightness and response times of 5ms.
Both of Acer’s new ‘green’ LCD displays are available as of now and will set you back around a pretty reasonable $185 and $236 for the 19″ V193WBbmd and 22″ V223WBbmd respectively.
