Environment Friendly AAA Rechargeable Batteries

AAA rechargeable batteries are pronounced as triple A batteries and are the cost-effective and environment-friendly alternatives to he non-rechargeable batteries. The guidelines set up by the American National Standards Institution (ANSI) for manufacturing these batteries have further enhanced their importance in the industry.

One of the important standards decided for the AAA rechargeable batteries is that they should have length not more than 44.5mm and diameter not exceeding the value of 10.5mm. This is to ensure that these batteries perfectly fit inside the devices they are designed for. In terms of weight, these batteries must not be more than 14-15 grams, as per the guidelines and standards made by ANSI. Going further, the AAA rechargeable batteries are designed to offer operating voltage of 1.2 volts, which is less than 1.5 volts offered by the non-rechargeable AAA batteries. NiCd (Nickel Cadmium) is the most commonly used battery in this category.

One can also find NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) as another battery in the category of AAA rechargeable batteries. One of the common aspects of these batteries is that they are non-toxic and thus, doesn’t contribute towards the environment pollution. The most common devices that can be operated using these batteries include TV remote controls, digital cameras and other gadgets found in a house. AAA batteries are also called cells, because they have a single-chamber arrangement unlike other batteries and thus, are lightweight and compact.
